Yes I Can Club (#6466) Memphis, TN

Ah Memphis. Home of Graceland and Gibson guitars. Famous for its Blues and BBQ. Not to mention the home of the little club that can–Yes I Can Club!

During my much needed vacation (from work), I couldn’t help but look up a local club. What can I say, I’m addicted to Toastmasters! Despite the 27 local clubs to choose from only one fit into my jammed packed golf schedule-the Yes I Can Club (YICC). I visited YICC with friend Lynn (who has become intrigue with Toastmasters after my many exciting stories from back home) and found myself right at home. I also found myself as the Joke of Day person. Lucky for me they found my “O bumper sticker” story funny.

Matt, Steven, Calvin, Iyoha, Lyn, and YongXi made Lynn and I feel extremely welcomed from the moment we entered the room. This group of Toasties know southern hospitality. They also know how to run a very effective, fun meeting. What impressed me most was Steven’s impromptu speech about his District International Speech contest quest. Steven not only told a wonderful and humorous story about his road trip to Little Rock, but also made it inspiring for others to compete. I have a feeling I’m going to see YICC at 2011 Toastmasters International Conference.

If you ever wonder on down south for some good old BBQ, I encourage to stop by and visit. You won’t regret it.
